The Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) has completed development on its racing facilities at Eagle Farm Racecourse providing everyone connected with the sport – horses, trainers, owners, jockeys and spectators – with improved facilities.
The development included the relocation of the parade ring to behind the existing grandstand facilities, the construction of 110 new race day tie up stalls, 5 hosing bays, 4 air-conditioned swab stalls, an exercise area, new stewards and media facilities and the completion of state-of-the-art new jockeys locker rooms complete with spa baths.

Trainer Steven Ramsay has received a formal invitation from the Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) for a free ride to Brisbane following his stunning success with Guiseppina in the Telegraph Handicap.
The BRC invitation will cover entry fees and travel expenses should Ramsay bring Guiseppina to Brisbane to contest the $1 Million Group 1 AAMI Stradbroke Handicap on Saturday June 9.
Trainer Steven Ramsay has said the Stradbroke is a perfect race for his classy mare.
"She races best with a fast speed and a chance to unleash in the final 400 metres," Ramsay said.
"The Stradbrokes I've seen are usually run like that. She would love the long Eagle Farm straight.”
Guiseppina came from near last to run down Australian sprinter Atomic Force in a thrilling finish on Saturday.

The Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) today announced an initiative aimed at attracting Australasia’s best racehorses to Queensland for the 2012 Brisbane Racing Carnival.
The initiative, which is being jointly funded by the Queensland Government through Events Queensland, and the BRC will see the race entry fees and travel expenses covered for select horses invited to compete in the Gr1 Treasury Casino Queensland Oaks (three-year-old fillies - 2400m) and Gr1 AAMI Stradbroke Handicap (1400m).
“Our vision was to create the ultimate showdown of Australasia’s racing champions here in Brisbane, setting a new
benchmark in Australian racing which champions our local industry,” said BRC Chairman Kevin Dixon.
“We anticipate this initiative, along with the wonderful Brisbane Racing Carnival atmosphere and mild Queensland winter weather, will entice the connections of Australasia’s best sprinters and staying fillies to take on the best in their league in either the Treasury Casino Queensland Oaks or the AAMI Stradbroke,” Dixon said.

The unsung heroes of Brisbane’s thoroughbred racing industry have been recognised at the inaugural Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) Awards event held at Eagle Farm Racecourse last night.
The BRC Awards were founded to encourage and pay tribute to the trainers, jockeys, horses, trackwork riders and participants of the racing industry; in particular, those who rarely receive recognition in front of their peers.
Winners were picked based on their achievements throughout the 2010/ 11 season at either Eagle Farm or Doomben Racecourses.

Doomben Racecourse was packed with Black Caviar fans at Racefest, keen to see history being made on the track. And historic it was, when Black Caviar stormed towards the winning post, almost two-lengths ahead of Hay List in the much anticipated Group 1 Bundaberg Distilling Co BTC Cup. On what was a perfect winter's day, the crowd certainly made a roar as the mare overtook Hay List on the homestraight.

Since this legislation was introduced into State Parliament the Brisbane Racing Club has time and again called on Minister Lawlor to consult with more stakeholders than those hand-picked to sit on the new Board of Racing Queensland.
