Carnival turns Children into Picassos
Children at twenty three (23) Brisbane primary schools have taken part in a competition to paint life-sized fibreglass racehorses as part of the Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival.
The fibreglass horses form part of the AAMI Stradbroke Schools Painting Competition which aims to create awareness about racing amongst students, teachers and parents.
Now in its second year, primary school students involved in this year’s promotion were encouraged to research and learn about the Queensland racing industry and transfer this knowledge and understanding to their horses.
The competition was introduced by the Brisbane Racing Club to help fund schools projects and needs, awarding cash prizes to the winner and finalists. First prize is $4000 and all other schools will receive $500 each for participating.
