Queensland children’s charity beneficiary of this year’s Brisbane Racing Carnival

MONEY raised at this year’s Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival will go towards providing Queensland children and young adults with physical disabilities much-needed support and services, thanks to a recent charity partnership between MontroseAccess and Brisbane Racing Club.

As an official charity partner, Queensland’s MontroseAccess will be selling souvenir lapel pins at the track to racegoers throughout the Brisbane Racing Carnival from now to June 12, 2010.

All money raised through the partnership will go towards providing free support and services to more than 600 children and young adults across Queensland who has physical disabilities of varying severity.

MontroseAccess CEO Darrel Bourke said the team are very grateful to Brisbane Racing Club for this wonderful opportunity to fundraise and ultimately raise much-needed awareness about the Queensland-based charity.

“All money raised will assist us in providing free support to individuals and their families via our community-based services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, respite care, recreational programs and speech pathology,” Mr Bourke said.

“We have 7,500 pins to sell throughout the carnival and a target to raise more than $30,000 for our charity.  An achievable target, we hope Brisbane racegoers can help us achieve,” he said.

“Throughout the racing carnival, people can show their support of MontroseAccess by making a donation, purchasing a pin and wearing it on the day.”
