Regurgitator to Rock the Races on Melbourne Cup Day!
The Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) has announced ARIA award winning Brisbane music export, Regurgitator, will perform live in concert at Brisbane's Toyota Melbourne Cup Day Live Party on Tuesday, November 2 at Eagle Farm Racecourse.
The one-hour live concert presented by Bundaberg Rum will have racegoers rocking to massive hits including Polyester Girl and Kong Foo Sing shortly after the main racing attraction - "the race that stops a nation" at 2pm.
A blend of rock and electronic, Regurgitator captured a devout following in 1996 with the band's debut album, Tu-Plang. The trio fronted by Quan Yeomans, with Ben Ely and Peter Kostic, have since released 6 albums and 5 EPs.
In May of this year, Regurgitator announced on their website they had begun work on their seventh album. The band, currently recording in Melbourne, released a four-track EP Distractions on September 8th.
Regurgitator's concert is the perfect ingredient to Brisbane's only live Melbourne Cup Day experience which also boasts eight live races on the track plus 5 super screens and over 500 televisions relaying all the racing action live from Melbourne.
Other off track highlights will include support music act Tuffy as well as the Indooroopilly Shopping Centre Fashions on the Field competition. Fashion is always a centrepiece off the track and this year's Indooroopilly Shopping Centre Fashions on the Field will feature the all new addition of a "live" judging component where racegoers will be given the opportunity to vote on a "Viewer's Choice" award outside of the Judges' Pick.
The competition for the title of Fashions on the Field Winner will be just as high as the on track stakes, with a trip to New Zealand and the chance to compete in the $100,000 Mercedes Prix de Fashion up for grabs.
Tickets to see Regurgitator Live in Concert plus all the racing action are just $26.50 through Ticketek (plus booking fee). For a limited time, racegoers who purchase their General Admission ticket will also receive a bonus FREE ticket to the races over the Summer.
