The next great partnership in racing, Channel Seven and the Brisbane Racing Club

Channel Seven and the Brisbane Racing Club today announced that they have entered into an agreement to televise the AAMI Stradbroke Handicap and Channel Seven Queensland Derby live from Eagle Farm in 2010.

Max Walters, Managing Director, Channel Seven Brisbane said “Seven is delighted to be partnering the Brisbane Racing Club for the 2010 Brisbane Racing Carnival. This is an iconic event and we are very proud to be a part of it.”

Kevin Dixon, Chairman of the Brisbane Racing Club, said “The BRC is thrilled Channel Seven have come on board as the television partner and naming rights sponsor of the Brisbane Racing Carnival. We’re very excited to be working with Channel Seven and believe that this initiative will allow Brisbane to really celebrate Queensland’s biggest racing carnival.”

It is fitting that Seven’s involvement coincides with the 120th running of the AAMI Stradbroke Handicap, cementing it as Queensland’s grandest race. “The Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival” kicks off at Doomben on the 15th May and runs through to the grand final on AAMI Stradbroke Day at Eagle Farm on the 12th June.

Stamping itself on Brisbane’s Social Calendar, the carnival boasts a rich program of must-attend events including the Brisbane Racing Carnival Cocktail Party, Doomben 10,000 Fraternity Dinner, Barrier Draws and five consecutive Saturdays of top class racing. For those attending these exciting and glamorous events, it’s a sure thing that you will be rubbing shoulders with a strong field of Channel Seven personalities.
