This Year’s Carnival is all in the Ingredients: Caviar and Champagne
This year's Brisbane Racing Carnival will be like no other all because of one simple ingredient... Caviar.
The world's best racehorse, Black Caviar, is set to compete at this year's Carnival and there is much talk about her coming to town. For the people of Brisbane, this may be their only opportunity to witness the once in a generation horse that in some circles is likened to Phar Lap. Nothing could beat seeing saying "I was there" when Black Caviar won 13/ 13.
They say the best match for Caviar is Champagne and the Brisbane Racing Club (BRC), together with Bollinger, is preparing to sell plenty of it if Black Caviar can achieve her 13th straight win.
But this year's Carnival will serve up much more than Caviar and Champagne with organisers planning a heady cocktail of stunning fashion, glamorous celebrities and fantastic entertainment.
The BRC has a number of hospitality and ticketing options to suit every taste, style and budget. A full range of what's on offer can be viewed online at brc.com.au.
The Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival will start on May 14, culminating with the AAMI Stradbroke on June 11.
Racefest (May 14 at Doomben) will be the first party of the racing season and will feature perpetual party rockers Bang Gang Deejays. On the track, the racing will be epic as Black Caviar takes on her 13th straight win in the Group 1 Bundaberg Distilling Co. BTC Cup.
The following week (May 21 at Doomben) is the Kirks Doomben Cup Family Day. You can't beat this racing event for great family fun and adventure. Featuring the hugely popular Cartoon Network's Ben10 show live on stage and free rides, this event really has something the whole family can enjoy. Kids entry is free to this event.
The Carlton Mid Doomben 10,000 (May 28 at Doomben) is amongst the very best races in the country. This year, top Australian sprinter and local hero, Apache Cat, will make a return to the track. Crowds can get up close and personal to the retired champion who won back to back Doomben 10,000s.
Ladies' Day (June 4 at Eagle Farm) is a vibrant celebration of fashion and glamour. Have a flutter on the Group 1 Treasury Casino QLD Oaks or enjoy the off field entertainment including the David Jones Fashions on the Field and Celebrity Designed Millinery parade.
The Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival reaches a high on AAMI Stradbroke Day (June 11 at Eagle Farm). The quintessential racing event features the $1 million Group 1 AAMI Stradbroke Handicap, the Group 1 Channel Seven QLD Derby and the Group 1 Patinack Farm T.J. Smith. This year David Jones Ambassador Megan Gale will join the hordes of people trackside as the crowd supports one racehorse to sprint their hardest for Stradbroke glory.
