The Carlton Mid Doomben 10,000 on Saturday 28 May is a signature race day on the Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival calendar attracting some of the country's best horses and racing industry icons.

Bringing together exceptional racing action, quality hospitality and classic fashion, the Carlton Mid Doomben 10,000 is a race day experience steeped in tradition held at Doomben.

Featuring the premier sprint event of the Brisbane Racing Carnival, the Carlton Mid Doomben 10,000 is also one of the most highly attended and prestigious races of the carnival.

The Group 1 Carlton Mid Doomben 10,000 is a weight for age sprint run over a distance of 1350 metres and is a favourite race for betting enthusiasts.

Named the 10,000 after the 10,000 pounds prize money originally offered, the Doomben 10,000 always attracts Australia's best horses and trainers, eager to cement their name in racing history.

Previous two-time winner and crowd favourite Apache Cat will return to the track in a unique capacity this year, leading the 2011 horses on to the track.

Guests will be able to get close to Apache Cat throughout the day at a public stable stall which allows fans to meet and take photos with the striking champion.

An exciting addition to this year's hospitality experiences is the launch of the Home Straight Lawn where guests can reserve a car space, pack their own picnic and enjoy unrivalled views from the centre of the track.

This is the first time the Home Straight Lawn has been offered to the public and is a unique way to enjoy this classic race day. Car park parties can be found at some of the world's most prestigious racetracks so the Home Straight lawn is sure to become a favourite Brisbane Racing Carnival experience. Traditional hospitality experiences are also available at the Doomben 10,000 with the Apache Cat marquee promising to be a favourite with the social set. Featuring superb catering including Bollinger Champagne, the Apache Cat marquee is located in a prime position trackside for guests to enjoy quality racing in a sophisticated setting.
