Rail positions
The position of the inside rail at most racecourses is changed on a regular basis for track maintenance purposes. The position of the rail is measured in meters from the ‘A’ or ‘True’ rail position.
The position of the rail can have an impact on the outcome of races, especially as the horses round the home turn. The rail position changes the track width available for outside runners in the home straight. For this reason, serious punters often consider the rail position when considering the chances of horses they’re considering backing.

Childhood Cancer Support (CCS) is a committed charity with a big heart, which has, for over thirty years kept its focus where it’s needed, the sick children and their families.
As a charity, CCS receives no direct Government Funding and relies completely on the generous donations and sponsorship for our survival.
100 % of the money raised goes back into supporting these amazing children and their families.
In addition to continuing to provide free accommodation, CCS provides counselling, financial assistance, recreational therapy activities and most importantly love and support. Plans to add further accommodation facilities and provide more services and financial support to the families cannot proceed without your assistance.
