Young Members Trackwork Experience 

Two groups of BRC Young Members enjoyed a special trackwork experience with local trainer Jason Waters in August.

From 5.30am they experienced the thrill of an early morning at Eagle Farm, touring the tie up stalls, jockey and stewards rooms, even venturing up the stewards tower for a bird's eye view of the action.

Racecourse Manager Bill Shuck discussed track preparation and ratings with the group and for many, this was their first time walking on the hallowed turf, or getting their hands on a horse.

 

15th May 2010 - Platinum Enclosure

Following the success of the first BRC Young Members event, it was no surprise that the second event sold out. 160 guests attended the Platinum Enclosure at Racefest, the opening day of the Channel Seven Brisbane Racing Carnival. One of the highlights was discovering that Brisbane Broncos star Corey Parker, really does have an eye for fashion. Assisted by Channel Seven Carnival Ambassador Sofie Formica, our Best Dressed Filly and Colt were decided, winning two tickets each to the Fashion Marquee on Doomben 10,000 Day.

The day ended with a live performance by Ricki-Lee and many happy racegoers headed home (or out).

17th April 2010 - Carnival Warm Up

Over 130 guests enjoyed a vibrant day on Saturday 17th April at the first BRC Young Members’ event. Carnival Warm Up featured special guests Bart Sinclair (Courier Mail), Mitch Speers (Jockey), Nathan Exelby (Courier Mail) and Grant Stockwell (Quest Community Newspapers). The experts obviously provided some handy tips, given the loud cheers that followed many of the races in the afternoon.

With a spattering of celebrities, including the Gold Coast Titans, the event was heralded as a huge success.

Guests then kicked up their heels to the rocking tunes of Afterglow Duo, before heading to the after party at the very stylish Limes Rooftop Bar.
