Adam Engel

Adam Engel is 28 years old and a Primary School Teacher in the South East Brisbane Region. Quite the sports nut, Adam loves the footy and keeping fit, but his real passion and healthy obsession is horses and racing.

Ever since a young boy, Adam has enjoyed reading the form guide and watching the odd race. However it was about 7 years ago when this love turned hands on, when he was became further involved with horses, completing some stable hand duties with the powerful McCarthy Harness Racing Stable.

Adam has since switched his focus to his first love of thoroughbreds, currently having a share in two horses trained in Brisbane. From attending a Young Members Trackwork Experience in 2010, Adam linked in with local trainer Jason Waters and has since taken out his stable hand license and loves his time in the stables.

Bill Lenehan

Bill is a passionate supporter of the horse racing industry and an avid race fan. He currently holds shares in race horses trained at both Brisbane and the sunshine coast. Bill was introduced to the racing industry by his grandfather and father who are also keen racegoers and racehorse owners. As a member of the inaugural Young Members Committee, Bill hopes to build on the foundations laid by the 2010 committee and introduce as many young people to the racing industry as possible."As a born and bred. Brisbane boy, I am urging the young people of Brisbane and Queensland to get out and get involved in the sport; I guarantee you will not have a better experience!"

Bryce Camm

Bryce hails from Dalby in Queensland's Darling Downs region where he oversees his family's farming and feedlotting operations as part of the greater Camm Agricultural Group; an integrated beef enterprise with interests across Queensland. Bryce has been managing the group's Wonga Plains Feedlot for four years and has overseen the operation triple in size. Involved in numerous horse pursuits, Bryce is keen supporter of racing throughout Queensland.

Kara Dixon

Kara currently works in Administration, Marketing and Event Management. At just 19 years of age, Kara has a thorough understanding of the racing industry. Growing up on a thoroughbred stud farm and already owning shares in racehorses, Kara is a passionate racegoer and enjoys sharing her hop tips with fellow punters. Kara attends the races every week and hopes to encourage more young people her age to follow suit and experience the fun of a day at the track.

Mathew Shelley

Mat has recently returned to Brisbane after stints working in Sydney and Melbourne and is presently employed as a solicitor at a national law firm. He began attending the races at an early age with his father and has been a member of the BRC since 2008. Mat is keen to further his involvement in the racing industry through participation on the Young Members Committee. Mat has also recently acquired a share in his first racehorse, which is trained in Warwick; he is eagerly awaiting its breakthrough win!

Renee Bidwell

Renee works in the area of professional services business development and marketing and is currently employed at Corrs Chambers Westgarth. Renee's childhood love of horse riding has developed into a passion for the racing industry and a determination to increase the sport's recognition and participation among Gen Y.

Renee was a member of the inaugural Young Members Committee in 2010 and is thoroughly looking forward to building on their achievements this year.

Tim O'Sullivan

Tim is a registered property valuer with Knight Frank Valuations Queensland, specialising in the valuation of Health, Retirement and Aged Care assets, along with commercial and retail properties.

Tim's passion and enjoyment in racing began at the age of 7 when he began attending race days with his father, being a member himself since 2006.

An active racegoer, Tim is a regular racegoer and has already experienced the excitement of horse ownership over the last few years. Tim is passionate about attracting and introducing other younger people to the sport of racing and the great social outings that can be had at a day at the races.
