Brisbane Racing Club (BRC) has today held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) at Eagle Farm Racecourse, with more than 80 Members and invited guests in attendance.

Following a contested Director election, the Club confirmed the re-election of Chairman Richard Morrison, Vice Chairman Terry Svenson and Director Jennifer Creaton, who will each serve another term on the BRC Board.

Mr Morrison thanked Members for their continued support and acknowledged fellow election candidates Michael Rapkins and Cheryl Ahchee for their willingness to contribute to the Club’s future.

“I would like to congratulate Terry and Jen on their re-election and thank our Members for the confidence they have shown in the Board,” Mr Morrison said.

“I also want to sincerely acknowledge Michael Rapkins and Cheryl Ahchee for putting themselves forward. Both have demonstrated genuine passion for the Brisbane Racing Club and a strong commitment to its future.

“We are fortunate to have Members who care deeply about the Club and are prepared to contribute their time and expertise to its ongoing success.”

During the AGM, Members received a comprehensive update on the Club’s performance throughout the 2025/26 financial year, including its racing, hospitality, community clubs and property operations.

The Club reported a positive financial result for 2025/26, with Group revenue of $89.7 million and a net profit of $4.7 million. Underlying EBITDA also improved on both budget and the prior year, reflecting stronger operational performance across the Club’s racing, hospitality and licensed venue businesses.

Another significant milestone highlighted at the AGM was the performance of the BRC Foundation, which surpassed the $1 million mark in its support of charitable and community initiatives.

Mr Morrison said the achievement reinforced the Club’s commitment to making a positive contribution beyond the racetrack.

“The BRC Foundation reaching the $1 million milestone is something our entire Club can be incredibly proud of,” Mr Morrison said.

“It reflects the generosity of our Members, partners and supporters, and the important role our Club plays in supporting the wider community.”

Members were also briefed on the Club’s longer-term strategic direction, with particular focus on the transformation of Eagle Farm Racecourse and the ongoing redevelopment of its spectator precinct.

The redevelopment represents one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the Club’s history, aimed at delivering modern facilities and an improved raceday experience for Members, racing participants and the broader community.

Mr Morrison said the Club remained focused on balancing the delivery of major infrastructure improvements with financial sustainability and the continued growth of its core racing and hospitality operations.

“We have achieved a great deal over the past 12 months, both on and off the track, while continuing to lay the foundations for the next chapter of the Brisbane Racing Club,” Mr Morrison said.

“The redevelopment of Eagle Farm is an important part of that future. Our priority is to ensure we deliver facilities that our Members and the wider racing community can be proud of, while maintaining the long-term financial strength of the Club.

“There is still considerable work ahead, but we are confident in the direction we are taking and excited about the opportunities in front of us.”

The Club’s financial statements and 2025/26 Annual Report were unanimously adopted by Members in attendance.
