We promised epic and we delivered epic on arguably the BIGGEST MEKKA raceday ever! The iconic Suntory -196 MEKKA Raceday blew the roof of Doomben, with thousands of racegoers and ravers joining us for one unforgettable Saturday.
The food trucks were packed; the Suntory -196 cans were everywhere and the racing on track was elite. The main stage was the place to be all day, as DJ’s including NIC•D, Jai Waterhouse, Just Jax and JRG kept the vibes high during the day. Once the last race was won and done, DJ’s Josh Colins & Novella took over the main stage, after beating out 19 other acts to claim the converted title as Example’s official opening act!
Then it was time for the man himself – Example. From Glastonbury to Doomben, the chart-topper had the record crowd in the palm of his hand, delivering banger after banger to keep the celebrations rolling, as the sun set on a MEKKA Raceday to remember forever.

With a career spanning over a decade, Example has built a reputation for high-energy performances that keep crowds moving from start to finish. Now, he’s bringing that energy trackside to Brisbane.

Built around energy, unpredictability and reading the crowd in real time, Jai Waterhouse brings sets that move from house and EDM into techno, drum & bass, hip-hop and nostalgic throwbacks without warning. Armed with creative mashups, quick-fire transitions and an instinct for finding the right record at exactly the right moment, no two Jai Waterhouse sets are ever quite the same.

JRG is best known for bringing the crowd together with his variety of musical genres. Playing a diverse commercial orientated DJ set, with a twist of Future House, Progressive House and Hard Dance influence. On the music front, JRG has been releasing remixes and mashup packs played by DJs around Australia, Internationally and supported by big names every weekend.

Please note as Brisbane Racing Club is a Licenced Venue you may be asked for ID when on course.
Acceptable Forms of ID include: Current Australian driver licence or learner permit, passport (from any country), adult proof of age card, a recognised proof of age card (eg. Keypass identity card) or foreign driver license. These can be hard copy ID or official digital ID. The ID must be current and have a photograph of the person and their date of birth. Expired IDs will not be accepted.
It is an offence for a minor to be on licensed premises in Queensland unless they are accompanied by a responsible adult who is responsibly supervising the minor. Minors must be supervised at all times by a parent or guardian who is old enough to be their parent. (ie. An 18-year-old accompanying a 17-year-old would not be considered a suitable guardian).
