Tony Partridge B.Com LLB (SYD)

Position: Chief Executive Officer

Tony has held senior roles in sports venues and racing as an executive, lawyer, operator and commercial director.

Tony holds degrees in Commerce and Law from the University of Sydney and began his career as a solicitor. He has worked across multiple sports and their major events as General Counsel and Commercial Director for the Stadium Australia Group, operators of Sydney’s Olympic Stadium.

Having owned shares in horses for many years, Tony followed his passion to join the Australian Turf Club as Chief Operating Officer where he oversaw Carnival changes, significant commercial growth and redevelopment. The Australian Turf Club manages Royal Randwick, Rosehill Gardens, Canterbury Park and Warwick Farm race courses.

Prior to joining BRC, Tony worked in professional services for Deloitte where he specialised in commercial advisory for social infrastructure clients.

David Koch

Position: Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary

David has over 20 years of finance and management experience accumulated from multinational, ASX listed, private equity and privately owned companies across multiple business sectors including food and beverage retail, consumer goods, education, infrastructure, banking and professional services.

David has worked at leading global organisations including Heathrow Airport, Credit Suisse, EY and many other emerging brands in a career spanning both Australia and the United Kingdom.

David is a Chartered Accountant, Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Certified Project Manager and holds degrees in Commerce and Business Management from the University of Queensland.

David’s interest in the BRC stems from his involvement in community sporting clubs from a very young age and the vision for Racing Queensland and Master Planning for the 2032 Olympic City.

David joins the BRC from the Minor DKL Food Group (owners of The Coffee Club) where he held the positions of Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary.

Matt Rudolph

Position: General Manager - Racing and Partnerships

Matt set about fulfilling his passion for thoroughbreds working for Australian Racing Hall of Fame inductees Widden Stud, William Inglis & Son Bloodstock Auctioneers as well as Keeneland in Kentucky USA, prior to joining the Australian Turf Club as Executive General Manager of Racing.

Matt was integral to the branding and launch of “The Championships” at Royal Randwick and travelled to the world’s leading racing jurisdictions to recruit international horses from Europe, Japan and Hong Kong.

Matt returned to Queensland in September, 2017 to join the BRC and is an avid bloodstock enthusiast, still attending many sales whilst also keeping in touch with industry issues.

Azlan Wan

Position: General Manager - Venues

Azlan has over 20 years’ experience in the delivery of major international events and operations in world class sports and entertainment venues.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Post Graduate degree in Project Management. 

Prior to joining the BRC, Azlan held senior executive positions at various Commonwealth Games Organising Committees in Australia, India and Scotland.

He has also worked for the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in managing the delivery of the 2014 Brisbane G20 Summit. In his last role he led the team that commissioned the new 30,000 seat Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta, NSW.

Prior to embarking on his corporate career, Azlan was a national swimmer who represented Malaysia at 2 Olympic Games and other major international championships.

Jason Leung

Position: General Manager - Sales and Hospitality

Jason Leung commenced recently as the Brisbane Racing Club General Manager of Sales. Jason is an experienced General Manager with a demonstrated history in the hospitality industry. 

His career began in Sales & Marketing within the hospitality industry in Sydney. Jason held positions at Four Points by Sheraton, The Westin Resort Nusa Dua, Bali in key roles including Director of Sales & Marketing, Executive Assistant Manager, culminating in his role as Hotel Manager. He was responsible for strengthening the property’s position as an International Award Winning family resort, while also managing the Bali International Convention Centre. He managed the renovation of the Hotel and Convention Centre which included a new Hotel wing with 101 rooms, a treatment Spa and Italian Restaurant.

In 2016 Jason moved to Singapore as a General Manager where he rebranded the Le Meridien Hotel Sentosa, Singapore. His successes in this posting placed him at the flagship Singapore Marriott Tang Plaza Hotel. During his time there he oversaw the renovation of the conference facilities, hotel rooms and the design and build of a new Club Lounge and restaurant.

Jason now continues his role at the Brisbane Racing Club as our new General Manager Sales and Hospitality overseeing our race day dining and business event experiences.

Jeff Kahler

Position: General Manager -  Property & Asset Management

Jeff is a highly experience property executive with over 35 years experience in the property industry. With a Degree in Property Economics, Jeff has worked for large property companies in London, Sydney and Brisbane in both Asset Management and Property Development roles.

Jeff has held senior positions in listed companies where he was responsible for the development of billions of dollars of real estate across the residential, commercial, retail and hotel property sectors. Having worked in his own property business for 5 years, Jeff understands risk management and accountability.

Working with large, long-term owners and developers of property, Jeff developed a long term and strategic view of real estate assets. This experience is ideally suited to the Brisbane Racing Club with its strategic masterplan for the long term ownership and optimization of its real estate assets.

Elsa Dalessio

Position: General Manager - Marketing, Membership and Strategic Partnerships

Elsa Dalessio recently joined BRC in a key management role encompassing Marketing, Membership and Partnerships, and comes to her new position already with a strong passion for racing. She has lived in the Eagle Farm precinct suburbs of Ascot, Hamilton and Hendra for over three decades however the real connection to racing crystalised when the family moved beside the 1200 metres start in Mein St Hendra.

Elsa, her long time partner Terry Bower and teenage son Ben currently live on the southern side of Eagle Farm in Ascot, just a short walk to the BRC main office and close to the hive of activity on Racecourse Road.

Her new position in charge of three crucial components of the BRC business is a break from her long and established career in the airline industry where she held senior executive roles for over 25 years, most recently as Regional Manager QLD / NT for Qantas, Executive General Manager QantasLink and CEO of Sunstate Airlines.
