David Koch
Position: Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary and Acting CEO
David has over 20 years of finance and management experience accumulated from multinational, ASX listed, private equity and privately owned companies across multiple business sectors including food and beverage retail, consumer goods, education, infrastructure, banking and professional services.
David has worked at leading global organisations including Heathrow Airport, Credit Suisse, EY and many other emerging brands in a career spanning both Australia and the United Kingdom.
David is a Chartered Accountant, Graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors, Certified Project Manager and holds degrees in Commerce and Business Management from the University of Queensland.
David’s interest in the BRC stems from his involvement in community sporting clubs from a very young age and the vision for Racing Queensland and Master Planning for the 2032 Olympic City.
David joins the BRC from the Minor DKL Food Group (owners of The Coffee Club) where he held the positions of Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary.
Azlan Wan
Position: General Manager - Venues
Azlan has over 20 years’ experience in the delivery of major international events and operations in world class sports and entertainment venues. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business and a Post Graduate degree in Project Management.
Prior to joining the BRC, Azlan held senior executive positions at various Commonwealth Games Organising Committees in Australia, India and Scotland.
He has also worked for the Department of Prime Minister and Cabinet in managing the delivery of the 2014 Brisbane G20 Summit. In his last role he led the team that commissioned the new 30,000 seat Bankwest Stadium in Parramatta, NSW.
Prior to embarking on his corporate career, Azlan was a national swimmer who represented Malaysia at 2 Olympic Games and other major international championships.
Kylie Hannah
Position: General Manager Membership
Born on the Gold Coast and a proud Queenslander, Kylie boasts a distinguished career spanning over 20 years in the aviation and tourism industry with senior roles at both Virgin Australia and Qantas.
Her roles included managing relationships with major stakeholders and accounts across Queensland and developing strategic plans to increase customer patronage and loyalty.
Passionate about customer service and enhancing customer experiences, Kylie values feedback both in person and via email. On Racedays, you will often find her in the Members Reserve , engaging with Members.
Outside of work, Kylie enjoys weekends away with her husband and three daughters.
Perran Sonnex
Position: General Manager - Clubs
Perran Sonnex brings a wealth of experience and a deep passion for the hospitality industry. With over 25 years in the sector he holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce along with qualifications in hospitality & project management, and has developed a keen understanding of venue management, customer service excellence, and operational efficiency.
Under his leadership, Brisbane Racing Club's licensed venues have seen significant growth, enhanced guest experiences, and a robust enhancement in service standards. Perran’s strategic vision and strong hands-on leadership ensure that every event within the venues, from private functions to community events, is executed flawlessly.
Perran's career is marked by a series of notable achievements, including successful launches of new hospitality initiatives, the implementation of innovative service improvements, and extensive experience in renovations of clubs, opening of new venues, and turn-around management of hospitality businesses.
He is known for his ability to lead dynamic teams, foster a collaborative work environment, and drive continuous improvement.
Beyond the racetrack, Perran is dedicated to community engagement and sustainability, with a keen interest in seeing positive community impact through venue sponsorship by improving community sporting facilities and improving accessibility for kids to play sport.
His efforts ensure that Brisbane Racing Club's venues not only deliver exceptional experiences but also contribute positively to their local community.
Matt Rudolph
Position: Executive General Manager - Commercial and Racing
Matt set about fulfilling his passion for thoroughbreds working for Australian Racing Hall of Fame inductees Widden Stud, William Inglis & Son Bloodstock Auctioneers as well as Keeneland in Kentucky USA, prior to joining the Australian Turf Club as Executive General Manager of Racing.
Matt was integral to the branding and launch of “The Championships” at Royal Randwick and travelled to the world’s leading racing jurisdictions to recruit international horses from Europe, Japan and Hong Kong.
Matt returned to Queensland in September, 2017 to join the BRC and is an avid bloodstock enthusiast, still attending many sales whilst also keeping in touch with industry issues.
Steve Kernohan
Position: General Manager - Building Services and Grounds
Steven has been employed by the Brisbane Racing Club since 2001. During this time he has fulfilled multiple roles throughout the BRC starting as a labourer on the grounds with the tracks team at Doomben before moving into the gardening team and becoming a fully qualified Horticulturist along the way. This led to being appointed Head of Grounds and Gardens which he fulfilled for many years before moving across into Facilities Management when the opportunity presented itself. During this time he was also working in an official role on race days as a Barrier Attendant.
Steven holds Certificates in Horticulture, Frontline Business Management and is currently undertaking a Diploma of Project Management. Prior to joining the BRC, Steven worked at BHSS The Automotive Engineers as a Fitter and Turner and managed the Clutch and Brake Department for over 10 years.
Steven has always been an avid Horse Racing Enthusiast before starting work with the BRC and having the opportunity to combine something he loved and a career path made total sense. As General Manager of Building Services and Grounds he oversees our Trades and Gardening Teams and manages our Contractors and Building Infrastructure Maintenance and Repairs.
Adam Lambert
Position: General Manager - Property & Asset Management
With over a decade of professional experience, Adams journey has led him to excel as the Executive General Manager of Property at Brisbane Racing Club. His commitment is to deliver strategic property seamlessly with the organization's mission, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence. At Brisbane Racing Club, we leverage collective strengths to empower development and growth, reinforcing his dedication to impactful leadership within the realm of Property.
Prior to joining The Brisbane Racing Club Adam was General Manager of Capital Projects with Churches of Christ Queensland
In his spare time Adam enjoys trips to the beach with his wife and two daughters.
