The Brisbane Racing Club has proudly announced its plans to host the Lexus Melbourne Cup at Doomben Racecourse, while in town as part of its annual tour of Australia and New Zealand.
Over 7,000 local punters attending the Club’s Country Music Raceday, proudly supporting Westpac Lifesaver Rescue Helicopter on Saturday, 14 September will get the chance to get up close and personal with the infamous trophy.
The BRC, together with the Victoria Racing Club will have the Cup on display at the track for racegoers to hold and capture a memorable photo moment, adding to the excitement of the event.
This Lexus trophy display will be amongst many thrilling drawcards at the sell-out Country Music Raceday such as the stellar line-up of country music acts headlined by Adam Harvey, a side-show alley of games and rides, market stalls, country-style food, line-dancing and more.
For the die-hard fans, an exclusive Cup Tour Lunch is being held at the raceday where guests will indulge in a gourmet two-course lunch, cheese platters and beverage package within a trackside marquee, while hearing from a selection of Melbourne Cup winning jockeys, trainers and the soon-to-be-announced VRC Ambassador.
This lunch will be perfect for local punters looking for some early insider tips and personal recollections of the sport’s most historical moments ahead of this year’s most iconic racing event – the race that stop the nation.
