Speed Ratings now online for all Doomben, Eagle Farm meetings

THE Brisbane Racing Club has teamed with respected agency “ratings2win” to provide the public with verified speed and sectional ratings for all races held at Eagle Farm and Doomben.

The ratings are measured in lengths above or below established benchmark times and provide an overall rating (or RLD – relative lengths difference to par time) for each winner on the day, in addition to early and late speed figures of leader to winner and also individual split ratings of each winner.

The times are broken down incrementally and provide punters with a clear snapshot of how a race was run.

Paul Daily from ratings2win said the data will provide punters with more insight and clarity into the results of BRC races.

“Punters can use the data to understand the context of a horse’s performance,” Daily said.

“The problem with looking at raw times is that the times don’t mean much on their own, because you need to get context of how races are run.”

Daily said all of the ratings are adjusted for track speed on any given day so the information is normalised and comparable across different days.

“(Punters) can build a library of that data so when they are doing form, they can make more valued assessments,” he said.

“What this shows is that (the Brisbane Racing Club) cares about the punter and are looking at bringing forward initiatives that are going to help them make better decisions and increase their turnover.
