Bart Sinclair's Preview - Girls Day Out presented by PIMM'S

Keen video replay punters will be all over Osamu to win at Eagle Farm tomorrow.

Osamu has earned favoritism for the Don Julio Class 3 Plate over 1000 metres on the evidence of his first run for the Steve O’Dea-Matt Hoysted training partnership at the Sunshine Coast three weeks ago.

The form guide shows Osamu finished fourth, beaten a little over a length behind Shamrock Lu also over 1000 metres.

The video shows he clearly had no clear running from the home turn to almost at the winning post.

Osamu previously was narrowly beaten at Doomben by the in-form Gogol at his first Brisbane start when still under the care of Annabel Neasham.

So he’s been good in two runs in Queensland. But his career record sits at two wins from 20 starts and paints him as horse who promises a lot but does not often deliver.

To balance the argument Osamu raced mostly in black type races as a two-year-old and early three-year-old under his original trainer Chris Waller.

Osamu broke through for his Maiden victory at Newcastle in May last year and backed up two starts later with a Class 1 success at Wyong.

The two recent runs have been encouraging. He is racing easier opposition and the change of scenery may be to his liking. He should win and improve his strike rate.

Dreamreacher gets his chance to enhance an already impressive resume at Eagle Farm in the TAB Venue Mode Class 6 Plate.

He has raced five times at Eagle Farm and been placed on each occasion with two wins. He has produced head-spinning finishing bursts to score at his past two starts.

Gun apprentice Jaden Lloyd rides him magnificently. His 2kg claim brings Dreamreacher well placed in Class 6 company with 57kg.

Girls Day Out presented by PIMM’S is expected to bring a big crowd for the re-opening of Eagle Farm after a 12 week rehabilitation break.
