The Brisbane Summer racing season has gained national momentum over the past few years and is fast becoming a breeding ground for future winners. In recent years there is always one horse who suddenly emerges from the pack and is recognised as a star of the future.

Sometimes it’s a two-year-old. General Nediym is a prime example. He won his first three starts at Eagle Farm, went on to take out the Magic Millions Classic (LR) and within 12 months was regarded as the best sprinter in the land after success in the Newmarket Handicap (G1) at Flemington.

Last year the Victorian filly Away Game had her second race start in the Calaway Gal (LR) at Doomben in December which she followed up by taking out the MM Classic (LR) and then was runner-up in the Golden Slipper (G1).

Away Game is trained by the training partnership of Ciaron Maher and David Eustace. The stable has confirmed the filly will be back again this summer. She is likely to run in either the Vo Rogue Plate (G3) or the Nudgee Stakes (LR) at Doomben on Boxing Day.

Maher has confirmed one of his two-year-olds targeting the BRC summer will be Fake Love, an I Am Invincible filly who won the Debutant Stakes (LR) at Caulfield in October.

A highlight of the upcoming season, TAB George Moore Stakes Raceday kicks off group racing for Brisbane’s Summer of Racing, accompanied by a stellar 9-card line-up of black-type racing on the Doomben track. The feature race, the TAB George Moore Stakes (G3), is named in honor of jockey George Moore, who is widely regarded as the greatest Queensland-produced jockey of all time.

The Christmas Twilight Raceday will be the best party of the Summer Carnival! Turn on the ‘out of office’ and head to Doomben for some after-work drinks, thrilling racing and live entertainment under the setting sun. Celebrate the silly season with a wide variety of group booking options available, sure to create a memorable evening for a corporate Christmas party or an end of year catch up.

Featuring a 2021 Stradbroke Handicap (G1) exemption race, The Gateway, racing heads back to Eagle Farm with a bang on Roku Gin The Gateway Raceday - and the excitement doesn’t stop with the racing action! Celebrity chefs, finely-crafted gastronomical delights and bold entertainment will signal the launch of the $1 million refurbishment of the new Guineas Room and Oaks Bar on Saturday 12 December. Celebrity chef and MasterChef alumni Justine Schofield will add to the A-list affair with a signature dish especially for the event.

Christmas comes early at the Summer Fun Raceday, with black-type racing live on the Doomben track, including the Lough Neagh Stakes (LR) & Gold Edition Plate (LR). Off track, wine & dine in one of many premium hospitality options or enjoy a casual celebration on the trackside lawn.

If you find you’ve overindulged on Christmas Day, you’ll find just the cure at Mullins Lawyers Grand Prix Stakes Day. A day in the breezy trackside air, plenty of cold drinks to wash down that Christmas feast and enough group and listed races live on the Eagle Farm track to keep the Christmas cheer alive.

Whether you’re toasting to the New Year, or nursing a New Year’s recovery – you’ll be feeling like a winner at Eagle Farm on the Road to Magic Millions Raceday! With bars stocked with your favourite drinks, tasty bites ready to go and live racing worth a total of over $1.3 million, including the Vo Rogue Plate (G3), black-type races and four Magic Millions Raceday wildcards. The Vo Rogue Plate (G3) has produced winners such as future Group One winning horses Pierata and Alligator Blood.
