Thursday, 26 October 2017

Legendary Queensland winning gelding Buffering has been immortalised in bronze at Eagle Farm Racecourse with a statue of the champion sprinter unveiled on Thursday 26 October 2017.

Trainer Rob Heathcote and jockey Damian Browne attended the unveiling to commemorate Buffering’s seven Group 1 race wins and $7.3 million in prize money during his brilliant six-year career. The bronze statue depicts Buffering in full gallop with his regular rider Damian Browne aboard.

Brisbane Racing Club commissioned the statue from acclaimed contemporary artists Gillie and Marc Schattner and takes pride of place in the forecourt of the new pavilion building on the infield of the Eagle Farm Racecourse.
