Celebrate this year’s Spring Racing Carnival like nowhere else in Brisbane!

Wednesday, 26 August 2020

The Brisbane Racing Club’s Spring Racing Carnival, presented by Lexus will come to life at Doomben Racecourse in less than seven weeks. This year it’s all about celebrating responsibly but for the BRC, this spring is also about designing a premium experience that racing fans deserve after such a challenging year.

Each raceday will feature live local races, the Sydney and Melbourne Spring Carnivals on super screens around the course, all-day entertainment and bespoke pop-up bars & eateries.

The Brisbane Spring Racing Carnival, presented by Lexus will include:

XXXX Dry Queensland Cup Day – 10th October, 2020
Lexus Ladies’ Day – 17th October, 2020
Sky Racing Cox Plate Day – 24th October, 2020
Moët & Chandon Derby Day – 31st October, 2020
Canadian Club Melbourne Cup Day – 3rd November, 2020

For the first time ever, the Brisbane Spring Racing Carnival, presented by Lexus will launch with Black-Type racing right here in Brisbane. XXXX Dry Queensland Cup Day will host one of the oldest races in the state, the Listed XXXX Dry Queensland Cup, which for more than 100 years was run during the Queensland spring. Accompanying the Black-Type racing on the Doomben track will be the major interstate meetings shown live on the big screen, including the ATC Spring Champion Stakes at Royal Randwick and the MRC Caulfield Guineas at Caulfield Racecourse.

Day two of spring is Lexus Ladies’ Day, undoubtedly one of the most exhilarating with the ATC Everest at Royal Randwick, the world’s richest turf race worth $15mil and the MRC Caulfield Cup shown live on big screens around the course. It’s a day for the ladies’ as elegance and glamour grace Doomben Racecourse.

Being trackside on Sky Racing Cox Plate Day will be an unrivalled experience for racing enthusiasts to watch the Cox Plate, with big screens on course showing the 100th running of the legendary race live, accompanied by a thrilling 10-race card on the Doomben track. The local meeting features a $125,000 sprint for the new season two-year-olds, the SUEZ Spring Plate. Maybe the next Magic Millions winner might stake a claim for the $2 million Magic Millions race in January, or even scale the heights of Golden Slipper glory.

The height of luxury is showcased on Moët & Chandon Derby Day, one of the most prestigious days of spring racing. Racegoers can view the live Melbourne coverage showcasing over $6.5mil in prizemoney on the screens around course. The racing action continues on course at Doomben with an exciting 9-race card.

The grand finale, Canadian Club Melbourne Cup Day, will be an unmissable event. All eyes at Doomben will be on the super screens as the 8 million dollar ‘race that stops a nation’ is shown around the course.

With COVID-19 restrictions currently requiring everyone to be seated, BRC expects high demand for its tickets and hospitality packages but has a package for every budget.

The new Village Green precinct located on the public lawn will host an array of culinary delights, a plethora of activations, pop-up bars stocked with everyone’s favourite drinks and all-day entertainment. Group booking and corporate customers can design a function space trackside that suits their needs.

Brisbane Racing Club Chief Executive, Tony Partridge, is proud that the club can deliver a Spring Carnival in line with COVID-19 restrictions.

“We knew that racing fans would be looking to celebrate responsibly in the Brisbane sunshine trackside whilst watching the interstate Carnivals but we couldn’t have the crowds we are used to. With so much open space and months of operating safely we knew we could still deliver a great Carnival experience and have a seat for every customer. We have focussed on pre-booked tickets and packages with an emphasis on quality. We are encouraging people to book early and of course we offer a refund guarantee should restrictions increase. We missed out on having customers at our winter race meetings so we’re expecting a lot of interest in the Spring Carnival.” Mr Partridge said.

The Brisbane Spring Racing Carnival, presented by Lexus is a place where racing, food, entertainment, fashion and fun will come together - a place like nowhere else in Brisbane!
