Eagle Farm Celebrates 160 Years
25 August 2025

The Brisbane Racing Club will celebrate 160 years of Eagle Farm Racecourse with a special, dedicated raceday held on Saturday 30 August.
Eagle Farm 160-Years Raceday will commemorate Eagle Farm and its most significant contributions to Queensland history since first opening its doors in August 1865.
Throughout the decades Eagle Farm’s hallowed turf has been graced by Australian and Queensland Hall of Famers alike, from Fitz-Grafton and Lough Neagh, to Tulloch, Gunsynd, Strawberry Road, and Kingston Town.
Bars have been named in honour of the heroics performed by the likes of Rough Habit, and Buffering.
Beyond racing, Eagle Farm has seen two World Wars, been the site of early aviation’s humbling feats, hosted royal visits, welcomed the technology revolution, and more.
All will be remembered and honoured at the 160-Years Raceday.
Alongside live racing action, racegoers can step back in time through a special opening of the Queensland Horse Racing Museum in The Tote Building, featuring a mini cinema and bar, a history timeline and artefacts throughout Stradbroke Plaza, and much more.
Racegoers can also enter the digital best dressed competition and encouraged to seek inspiration from their favourite racing eras.
