Help support charity during The Star Stradbroke Season

Brisbane Racing Club is proud to be partnering with a range of charities to help them raise much-needed funds during The Star Stradbroke Season 2023.

BRC is hosting a 50-50 Charity Raffle on each of the Season’s Saturday racedays at Eagle Farm and Doomben Racecourses, with a different charity beneficiary each day.

Under the successful 50-50 Charity Raffle system, everyone who buys a raffle ticket has a chance to win 50 percent of the prize pool of tickets sold, with the remainder going to the charity. Raffle tickets can also be bought online at www.5050charityraffle.com.au from the Monday before each raceday.

To date, BRC has hosted 46 50-50 Charity Raffles at its racedays, with more than $545,000 raised in ticket sales. If you would like to volunteer to sell tickets at any of the upcoming racedays, please email team@5050charityraffle.com.au.

Muscular Dystrophy Queensland was the beneficiary at the first of The Star Stradbroke Season racedays, SKY Racing Guineas Day, held at Eagle Farm on 29 April. MDQLD supports people living with a range of muscle wasting conditions, raising money for equipment, services and research. Ticket sales on the day totalled $8272.

On the next Season raceday this Saturday (13 May), Ladbrokes Doomben 10,000 Day at Doomben, the raffle will benefit Youngcare. The organisation works to improve the lives of thousands of young Australians living with high-care physical disabilities through the provision of housing, grants and information support services.

The other 50-50 Charity Raffle partners for The Star Stradbroke Season are:

Down Syndrome Queensland on Doomben Cup Day (20 May, Doomben). Part of the Australia-wide Down Syndrome Federation, the association provides support, information and resources to people with Down syndrome and their families.

RizeUp Australia on Ladbrokes Derby Day (27 May, Eagle Farm). RizeUp delivers support for families dealing with domestic violence via programs for emergencies, home set-up and furnishing, and youth enrichment and schooling support.

Fun Farm on Channel 7 Oaks Day (3 June, Eagle Farm). Fun Farm delivers activities, experiences and opportunities for teenagers and young adults with disabilities, helping them to build individual capacity and make social connections.

Equine Pathways Australia on The Star Stradbroke Day (10 June, Eagle Farm). An accredited Paralympics Australia Centre for Paralympic Preparation, EPA provides opportunities for people with disabilities to engage in equine sport and activities.
