Late BRC Executive Chef Michael Fletcher Honoured with Herb Gard

Friday, 04 September 2020

The warm, generous, positive personality of the late BRC Executive Chef Michael Fletcher was commemorated at Doomben Racecourse on the 2nd September, 2020, 2 days prior to the one year anniversary of his passing.

A tribute to the great gentleman that he was took place with the unveiling of a herb garden named in his honour. Michael unfortunately passed away in hospital on the 4th of September, 2019 after suffering a heart complication the week prior.

The anniversary of Michael’s passing comes not long after he would have celebrated six years at the BRC. Michael’s skills were first-class with many chefs looking to him for advice and direction. During his time with us he was one of the key team members behind the many compliments the BRC received about the food offering.

A herb garden was built in Michael’s honour on the wall of the Catering Office at Doomben Racecourse. A small number of family, friends and colleagues gathered for the unveiling of the herb garden to pay tribute to treasured memories and to celebrate Michael’s life.

The Michael Fletcher Herb Garden will serve as a wonderful reminder to his colleagues of their much-loved team member who is dearly missed.
