Pioneer Mary Bell Honoured at Caulfield

Melbourne Racing Club has honoured former Vice Chairman and Committee Member Mary Bell on Saturday at Caulfield with a namesake Race 2.

Mary Bell was the first female elected to the Melbourne Racing Club board in 1993 and has continued to path the way for future generations of females in racing.

She further broke records by becoming the first woman to hold an Executive position in any Metropolitan race club when she was appointed to the role of MRC Vice Chairman from 2006 - 2009. 

Mary retired in 2009 and moved to Brisbane with her husband Neville Bell, who is the Brisbane Racing Club Chairman.

Mary continues her love of the spot in Brisbane is an active member of the BRC community.
