Star-studded line up set for Channel 7 Doomben Cup Day

Channel 7 Doomben Cup Day tomorrow Saturday (22 May) is set to be one for the ages with interstate turf stars such as Cox Plate winner Sir Dragonet and All Star Mile champion Mugatoo to take on the Doomben track.

This third Saturday of Brisbane Racing Club’s Stradbroke Season presented by TAB, and the second at Doomben Racecourse, will look to continue the success of last weekend’s TAB Doomben 10,000 Day.

“We were thrilled to welcome almost 6000 racegoers last Saturday,” said Brisbane Racing Club CEO Tony Partridge.
“We were blessed with fabulous Brisbane autumn skies, our functions were at COVID capacity and it was great to see grandstands filled with racegoers cheering for their favourites.
“The calibre of horses last Saturday was outstanding and we are looking forward to welcoming more top performers to the Doomben track tomorrow.”

7NEWS presenter Katrina Blowers will be trackside tomorrow, joining judges for the Oscar Oscar Salons Fashions on the Field competition.

Her fellow judges are Oscar Cullinan, owner of Oscar Oscar Salons, and Mildred Ellwood, Oscar Oscar Salons Fashions on the Field Ambassador.

“I’m very much looking forward to seeing the ladies and gents in their finest outfits for Channel 7 Doomben Cup Day,” Katrina said.  “It’s always a pleasure to judge raceday fashions.”

Also trackside tomorrow will be 7 NEWS weather presenter, meteorologist Tony Auden, and former Paralympian and Weekender presenter Karni Liddell.

Channel 7’s sponsorship of Doomben Cup Day continues its longstanding partnership with the Brisbane Racing Club during winter racing.  Watch racing live and free on Channel 7.
