Tofane Joins Wall of Champions

2021 TAB Stradbroke Handicap winner Tofane was today immortalised on the Wall of Champions at Eagle Farm Racecourse.

The wall, dedicated to past winners of the Brisbane Racing Club’s pinnacle race, includes champions such as Rough Habit, Dane Ripper and more recently, Santa Ana Lane

Tofane became just the third horse to complete the Stradbroke Handicap – Tatt’s Tiara double, following Dane Ripper and Srikandi.

The Mike Moroney trained mare will attempt to build on her Group 1 success this Saturday, September 11, in the Makybe Diva Stakes at Flemington, where her Stradbroke partner Craig Williams will again take the ride.

Tofane currently occupies the second line of betting at $4.80 in the TAB Fixed Odds market, with only Caulfield and Melbourne Cups favourite and fellow Stradbroke Season graduate Incentivise posted ahead of her.

Punters’ confidence in is undoubtedly linked to her stellar Winter Carnival in Brisbane. After running second in the Group 3 BRC Sprint under a big weight, Tofane collected two Group 1 wins in succession, bringing her career total to three having previously won last year’s All Aged Stakes in Sydney.

Tofane returned to racing with a sound third in the Group 1 Memsie Stakes on August 28 and given her habit of improving as she gets further into a campaign, she’s expected to be a tougher nut to crack this weekend.

Already inked into the Stradbroke Honour roll, Tofane’s stature will only grow further if she can add another major to her already stellar career this spring.
