Freshly inducted Queensland Racing Hall Of Fame trainer Tony Gollan has credited the Brisbane Racing Club’s training precinct as a major contributor to his continued success over the past twelve years.

Gollan last season landed his 12th consecutive Brisbane metropolitan training premiership and his dominance shows no sign of waning.

His induction into the HOF at age 46 is testament to his standing in Queensland racing and the national stage.

“I believe the training facilities and stable environment afforded the Eagle Farm-based trainers allows me to prepare my horses to be at their absolute best on race days,’’ Gollan said.

“The infield stables are extremely functional. You can see how the horses relax and thrive.

“I’ve had a lot of success with horses transferred to me from interstate and no doubt the layout and quiet surroundings here has played a major role in that success.

“It’s also handy to have the use of not only all the Eagle Farm tracks but also Doomben for barrier trials and occasionally gallops. Between the two racecourses it’s the best training set-up in Australia.

“To win twelve premierships you need a lot of procedures to go right. No doubt the BRC training set-up has been a big asset for my stable and it’s been a significant step along the way to be get this incredible induction into the Hall Of Fame.’’

BRC chairman Richard Morrison described Gollan’s elevation into the Hall Of Fame as well deserved.

Morrison said not only has Gollan set training records he also has been a wonderful flagbearer for the BRC training centre and racing in Queensland.

“Tony is a respected force in racing. Punters all over Australia love backing his runners across the board,” Morrison said.
