The following runners engaged today at Doomben have recently trialled in the South East Queensland area. Below is an alphabetical listing and summary of the trial.

Race 1 11.47am SKY Thoroughbred Central 3yo Handicap 1600m.
No.1 Baccarat Baby – (D. Vandyke) – 2nd (2.25L) 30/8 Deagon 1200m Open trial Good (TR N/A)
Freshened (31 days). Jumped ok, no rush at all settling down 3rd of the 4 runners off the fence 3 lengths from the lead. Back to last 600m, right to the outside top of the straight, coasted into 2nd spot given a very easy time in an unsuitably run trial.
Race 2 12.22pm Bentleys Chartered Accountants BM65 Handicap 2200m.
No.5 Chatelard – (C. Waller) – 4th (2.1L) 11/9 Gold Coast 1000m Open trial Soft (TR 110)
Freshened (28 days). Jumped ok, not bustled settling down 3rd last 6 lengths off the lead. Improving before the turn, picked up good ground last 200m without being called upon at all, nice trial.
Race 6 2.42pm Herron Todd White No Metro Wins Handicap 1050m.
No.8 Annatime – (D. Duryea) – 3rd (0.95L) 30/8 Deagon 1000m Open trial Good (TR 102)
Resuming (119 days). Jumped ok, settled down behind the leader 3rd fence 2 lengths away. Travelled well into the straight no room though, clear last 100m going through underneath the leader however wasn’t asked to give chase.
Race 7 3.22pm Kestrel Solutions Handicap 1600m.
No.5 Jaminzah – (C. Waller) – 3rd (1.5L) 11/9 Gold Coast 1000m Open trial Soft (TR 96)
Freshened (35 days). Jumped ok, caught wide settled down 3rd without cover facing the breeze 2 lengths away. Under a hold into the straight coasted down to the line with gas in the tank never let down after the tough run.
Race 8 4.02pm Gadens Lawyers BM85 Handicap 1350m.
No.13 Double Superlative – (K. Schweida) – 4th (4.6L) 30/8 Deagon 1000m Open trial Good (TR 105)
Resuming (133 days). Jumped ok no rush though drifted back settling down last off the fence just over 4 lengths away. Urged along 400m, cornered no closer, held ground to the line again being urged along.
Race 9 4.22pm Surf Life Saving BM70 Handicap 1600m.
No.2 Kincaple Chief – (J. Smerdon) – 4th (2.0L) 11/9 Gold Coast 1000m Open trial Soft (TR 96)
Let up (63 days). Jumped ok, no rush drifted back to settle down 2nd last fence only 3 lengths off the lead though. Closer into the straight, held ground given an easy time all the way to the line.
