The following runners engaged today at Doomben have recently trialled in the South East Queensland area. Below is an alphabetical listing and summary of the trial.

Race 1 11.38am St Rita’s College 2yo Handicap 1110m.
No.3 Pocket Pistol – (K. Schweida) – 4th (8.4L) 25/9 Doomben 840m 2yo trial Good (TR 104)
First start. Jumped ok settled 4th off the fence spotting the leader 4 lengths start. Wider & slightly closer into the straight jock sitting quietly, did fade late however never put under any real pressure.
No.8 Okeechobee – (D. Vandyke) – 1st (0.2L) 9/10 Sunshine Coast 850m 2yo trial Soft (TR 95)
First start. Jumped ok, no rush early on drifted back to settle 4th balancing up 4 lengths from the lead. Improving nicely under own steam to the turn, levelled up widest 250m under a stranglehold, only held a small margin on the line however jockey Jeff Lloyd never let go at any stage.
Race 2 12.13pm Powering The Happy F & M Class 6 Plate 1050m.
No.4 Dam Wonderful – (G. Taylor) – 1st (2.0L) 9/10 Sunshine Coast 850m Open trial Soft (TR 113)
Freshened (21 days). Jumped well from the outside gate settled down 2nd clearly the widest runner. Levelled up early straight and travelled well, ran clear closing stages under a good grip all the way.
No.10 Hearts Lifted – (M. Costa) – 6th (3.15L) 25/9 Doomben 1000m Class 2 trial Good (TR 94)
Resuming (119 days). Jumped just ok, no rush at all settled down 2nd last fence just over 5 lengths off the lead. Cornered slightly closer, last passing the 200m jockey yet to move, same to the line wasn’t asked for an effort at any stage.
Race 4 1.23pm Westwood Workshop Benchmark 70 Handicap 1200m.
No.7 Deitch – (S. Kendrick) – 2nd (2.75L) 9/10 Sunshine Coast 850m Open trial Soft (TR 100)
Resuming (190 days). Jumped ok, went through to 2nd underneath the leader on a very leisurely tempo. Niggled along 300m margin 2 lengths, given a crack 200m from the line basically held ground to the line never threatening the winner.
No.9 Femme Fireball – (R. Heathcote) – 1st (0.3L) 25/9 Doomben 1000m Open trial Good (TR 106)
Resuming (133 days). Jumped ok settling in a good spot 3rd fence trailing the leader 2 lengths away. Line of 4 up front this stalking turn, called upon urged along 200m, knuckled down late going home too well albeit pressured to win.
Race 7 3.22pm Invertek Drives C, G & E Class 6 Plate 1050m.
No.2 Princefamous – (D. Fletcher) – 3rd (2.45L) 2/10 Gold Coast 1000m Open trial Soft (TR 102)
Resuming (161 days). Jumped well landing a length in front off the inside gate settling over a length clear. Almost joined approaching the turn, had company into the straight and although beaten into 2nd on the line was given a very easy time.
No.9 Desert Man – (K. Schweida) – 4th (2.9L) 25/9 Doomben 840m Class 1 trial Good (TR 107)
Resuming (700 days). Jumped ok, caught wide pushed on slotted in one x one 4th only 2 lengths from the leading pair. Brought widest rounding turn, 3 lengths away 200m not being pressured, held ground just coasting to the line, not raced for a long time (wore heavy shoes).
Race 9 4.42pm Ray White Ascot 3yo Handicap 1200m.
No.10 Light Up The Room – (T. Gollan) – 5th (4.15L) 25/9 Doomben 840m Class 1 trial Good (TR 107)
Resuming (119 days). Jumped ok, looked to restrain from the outside gate going straight across to the rail last 8 lengths from the lead. 2nd last into the straight, did make ground given a very easy time, looked to have plenty more to offer.
No.14 Eskdale Girl – (L. Ross) – 2nd (0.1L) 25/9 Doomben 840m Class 1 trial Good (TR 107)
Resuming (161 days). Jumped well, settled close up outside the leader. Levelling up turn, back to 2nd straight urged along 200m outgunned by the first two who were given easier hit outs.
