The following runners engaged today at Eagle Farm have recently trialled in the South East Queensland area. Below is an alphabetical listing and summary of the trial.

Race 1 12.37pm Priceline Pharmacy Ascot 2yo Handicap 1300m.
No.5 Magic Beans – (J. Zielke) – 3rd (1.4L) 19/2 Gold Coast 1000m 2yo trial Good (TR 84)
First start. Jumped well off the inside no rush to go forward settling down behind the leader on the fence 2 lengths away. Clear 3rd turn, urged into the straight closing late before switched off last 100m only coasting to the line as were the first couple home.
Race 3 1.47pm Midori Open Handicap 1400m.
No.4 Jaminzah – (C. Waller) – 3rd (1.65L) 19/2 Gold Coast 900m Open trial Good (TR 99.5)
Freshened (21 days). Jumped ok, no rush at all settled down last of the 4 runners 4 lengths from the leader. Under a good grip coming wide on the turn, within 2 lengths 200m, closed that margin further with the jock not moving an inch.
No.8 Veladero – (C. Waller) – Last of 4 19/2 Gold Coast 900m Open trial Good (TR 99.5)
Resuming (119 days). Jumped ok, no rush at all settled 3rd of the 4 starters against the fence 3 lengths from the lead. Under a firm grip on the turn, back to last 200m 3 lengths off held ground never being let down at any stage, plenty in the tank.
Race 5 2.58pm Paddyfest 2019 No Metro Wins Handicap 1000m.
No.15e Paper Trade – (P. Hulbert) – Last of 6 (5.3L) 12/2 S Coast 850m Open trial Good (TR 105.5)
Resuming (190 days). Missed the start a length or two, not hurried improving to settle 2nd last behind the speed only 3 lengths away. Cornered similar, held ground before fading late, wasn’t pushed out by any means.
Race 6 3.38pm Priceline Pharmacy Ascot 3yo Handicap 1600m.
No.16 Tatalina – (D. Vandyke) – Last of 7 (4.95L) 12/2 Sun. Coast 850m Class 2 trial Good (TR 98)
Resuming (133 days). Jumped ok, drifted straight back to last under no urgings spot the leader almost 6 lengths start. Quietly ridden all the way down the straight jock never moved a muscle holding ground to the line.
Race 7 4.18pm TAB Class 6 Plate 1600m.
No.5 High Mist – (C. Waller) – 2nd (0.4L) 19/2 Gold Coast 900m Open trial Good (TR 99.5)
Resuming (161 days). Jumped ok, soon to 2nd settled 2 lengths off the leader who travelled strongly. Cornered similar, closing to within a length 100m kept coming to the line under no urgings at all, likely could have won if asked to.
No.14 Surprise Bullet – (B. Lockwood) – 1st (1.75L) 5/2 Deagon 1200m Mdn-CL 3 trial Soft (TR N/A)
Resuming (700 days). Jumped well settling down 2nd off the fence a length away. No change and little speed on midrace, urged into the straight soon levelled up, pushed along came clear to the line.
Race 8 5.00pm Midori Class 6 Plate 1200m.
No.8 Scallopini – (S. O’Dea) – 3rd (1.5L) 5/2 Deagon 1000m Open trial Soft (TR N/A)
Resuming (119 days). Jumped ok, no urgency at all settled last off the fence only 4 lengths from the lead. Closer moving to 3rd well before the turn, to the outside straight loomed 2 lengths away, ambled down to the line with plenty in hand.
No.9 Dansez – (K. Schweida) – 3rd (3.45L) 29/12 Doomben 840m Open trial Good (TR 102)
Resuming (161 days). Jumped ok wider out going forward settled 3rd off the fence 3 lengths away. Cornered similar, basically held ground to the line not really being asked for any decent effort (wore heavy shoes).
No.10 Manaya – (M. Costa) – 1st (0.1L) 29/12 Doomben 840m Open trial Good (TR 102)
Resuming (119 days). Jumped ok, caught 3 deep without cover 2 lengths off the leading pair. Similar into the straight, closer 200m, ambled past those leaders late in a good performance after the wide run.
No.11 Baccarat Baby – (D. Vandyke) – 1st (0.3L) 12/2 Sun. Coast 850m Open trial Good (TR 105.5)
Resuming (161 days). Jumped ok, no rush early on settling down last spot the leaders 4 lengths. Easing widest once into the straight, closing in on the leaders last 200m, coasted on by late all under her own steam.

No.2 Coral Bay – (S. Kendrick) – 3rd (0.6L) 12/2 Sunshine Coast 850m Open trial Good (TR 102)
Resuming (119 days). Jumped ok, restrained initially before moving up 2nd a length off the leader. Cornered similar although now going back nearer the inside section, only ambled along to the line with plenty more to offer.
No.10 Royal Atom – (D. Hansen) – Last of 6 (8.75L) 12/2 Sun. Coast 850m Open trial Good (TR 108)
Resuming (161 days). Missed the start a couple of lengths, urged along couldn’t tack on spot the leaders 7 lengths. Still back there into the straight, urged along gave further ground coming in a long way behind the leading bunch.
No.14 Benfica Princess – (K. Doughty) – 2nd (0.2L) 19/2 Gold Coast 1000m Open trial Good (TR 86)
Resuming (119 days). Jumped ok, no rush settled down 3rd last fence just under 4 lengths from the lead. Saving ground to the turn, cornered underneath leader, levelled up 200m, took over soon after however winner came sailing down the outside, this proved no match.

Race 5 No.2 Capital Connection – (T. Gollan)
Beat Tumbler comfortably in a trial (slick time) before running on well first up. Fitter this time around appears very well placed.
