The following runners engaged today at Doomben have recently trialled in the South East Queensland area. Below is an alphabetical listing and summary of the trial.

Race 1 11.10am TAB Benchmark 70 Handicap 1050m.

No.5 Masterati – (S O’Dea) – 2nd (3.25L) 26/3 Doomben 840m Open trial Good (TR 114)
Let up (35 days). Jumped well, very keen to race duelled with Ef Troop until managing to ease near the 600m. Cornered 2 lengths away gap back to 3rd, wasn’t asked to chase at all just coasting down to the line. 

No.7 Cordoned – (D. Roberts) – 3rd (2.35L) 25/3 Gold Coast 1000m Open trial Good (TR 107)
Resuming (161 days). Jumped ok, easing soon after settled down 4th tracking one x one just over 4 lengths off the pace. Ridden along further back into the straight, did find the line well latter stages just missing out on 2nd spot. 

No.11 Bella Occhi – (B. Currie) – 1st (2.5L) 21/3 Toowoomba 925m Open trial Good (TR 114)
Resuming (161 days). Jumped fast straight to the front before headed settling down 2nd 2 lengths away. Urged along into the straight, took over soon after racing away given a few cracks to the line, solid workout.
 
No.12 Sundarbans – (T. Gollan) – 1st (0.1L) 26/3 Doomben 840m Class 2 trial Good (TR 103)
Freshened (24 days). Jumped well up disputing the lead two wide. Same into the straight taking over soon after, headed in turn however urged a little levelled up and went home a shade stronger with more to offer. 


Race 2 11.42am Keylinks Community Services 2yo Handicap 1200m.

No.11 Purroni – (T. Gollan) – 4th (0.30L) 26/3 Doomben 840m 2yo trial Good (TR 85)
First start. Jumped ok, moved to 2nd sitting around a length off the leader. Similar 250m, very slight urge soon after picked up however jock didn’t persist with this expensive purchase (550K) just coasting to the line close up in a bunched finish. 

No.13 Sizzling Power – (T. Gollan) – 2nd (0.10L) 26/3 Doomben 840m 2yo trial Good (TR 85)
First start. Jumped well, found the front soon after settled a length clear rail. Similar 250m, jogging past 150m, held back to the line collared late in a bunched finish nothing between the first four home.


Race 3 12.22pm Castle International Trading Class 6 Plate 1600m.

No.8 Dansez – (K.Schweida) – 3rd (3.25L) 26/3 Doomben 1000m Open trial Good (TR 109)
Freshened (21 days). Jumped ok settled 3rd racing alone 3 lengths from the lead. Under a hold into the straight, held ground before closing off nicely latter stages all without being let down at any stage. 


Race 5 1.42pm Concretis Polished Concrete Veneer Open Handicap 1350m.

No.3 The Chairman – (M. Costa) – 3rd (3.25L) 25/3 Gold Coast 1000m Open trial Good (TR 101.5)
Resuming (315 days). Jumped ok, no rush settled 4th off the fence 4 lengths from the pace. Asked to improve a little approaching the turn however no closer into the straight as the leader skipped well clear. Urged slightly held ground to the line. 

No.4 Courtza King – (T. Gollan) – 3rd (3.55L) 26/3 Doomben 840m Open trial Good (TR 114)
Freshened (28 days). Jumped ok, caught 3 deep second last 5 lengths off the lead. No closer straight easing to the outside soon after, closing last 150m just missed 2nd without being pressured at all. 

No.10 Bodega Negra – (B. Hill) – 4th 25/3 Gold Coast 1000m Open trial Good (TR 101.5)
Resuming (150 days). Jumped well, settled down a clear 2nd off the fence just under 2 lengths from the lead. Margin greater approaching turn, cornered under riding 4 lengths away leader now off and gone, urged along faded a little to miss the place. 


Race 6 2.22pm Energize Electrical Safety Management Class 6 Handicap 1350m.

No.4 Deep Image – (D. Vandyke) – 2nd (0.1L) 12/3 Sunshine Coast 1270m Cl 2-5 trial Good (TR 110)
Let up (35 days). Jumped ok moving forward soon after led however stayed off the inside. Two or so wide into the straight still led, under a good grip 200m, challenged late, headed however jock stayed motionless. 

No.6 Lota Creek Gold – (H. Norman) – Last of 6 19/2 Gold Coast 1000m Open trial Good (TR 86)
Resuming (112 days). Jumped well off the inside no speed on settled down 2nd taking a trail just under 2 lengths away. Moved off the fence and cornered for home similar margin away, faded, too short for her.

No.8 Karakabeel – (T. Gollan) – 3rd (2.0L) 26/3 Doomben 1000m Open trial Good (TR 109)
Resuming (364 days). Jumped just ok, drifted back under no urgings settled down second last improving a little 6 lengths off the lead. Cornered easing off the inside within 3 lengths now, coasting held down 3rd nicely to the line, certainly could have finished closer. 


Race 8 3.42pm South East Floors Class 6 Handicap 1350m.

No.2 Brains – (T. Gollan) – 2nd (1.0L) 26/3 Doomben 840m Open trial Good (TR 96)
Let up (35 days). Jumped ok, pushing on soon after balanced up one x one 4th 3 lengths away. Cornered similar, cruised all the way down to the line finishing a close up 2nd with plenty more to offer. 

No.3 Gold Ambition – (M. Costa) – 2nd (2.25L) 25/3 Gold Coast 1000m Open trial Good (TR 107)
Spell (176 days). Jumped ok, no rush whatsoever going straight back to last spotting the leader 7 lengths about to tack on. Brought wide approaching the home turn however still last into the straight, same 150m got moving late to close solidly claiming 2nd under urgings.

No.4 River Racer – (L. Ross) – 2nd (0.75L) 5/3 Deagon 1000m Open trial Soft (TR 116)
Let up (35 days). Jumped ok, settled down 3rd off the fence 3 lengths away. Moving to 2nd soon after within a length, same for home, whip produced, tried hard however held by the winner who was also pressured. Time was quick. 

No.6 Denarius – (B. Wakefield) – 5th (4.45L) 26/3 Doomben 1000m Open trial Good (TR 109)
Jumped ok, caught wide striding up to 5th 3 deep bit keen 5 lengths from the lead. Same turn, length further back into straight, held ground without being asked for any effort. 

No.7 So Spirited – (S. O’Dea) – 5th (3.15L) 26/3 Doomben 1000m Open trial Good (TR 109)
Let up (35 days). Jumped well, no interest in staying there drifted back 3rd last off the fence 6 lengths away. Second last into the straight before making nice ground to the line under no pressure at all from the jockey, nice trial. 

No.10 Lucky Prospector – (C. Meagher) – 2nd (1.25L) 26/3 Doomben 1000m Open trial Good (TR 109)
Let up (36 days). Jumped ok, settled down 3rd off the fence spot the leaders almost 4 lengths. Easing wider rounding home turn, deepest runner trying to make ground 200m, did so late closing into 2nd without threat or put under any great pressure. 

No.13 Prince Of Tie – (K.Schweida) – 1st (1.0L) 26/3 Doomben 840m Open trial Good (TR 96)
Let up (44 days). Jumped well, straight to the front cruised along led a neat length off the rail. Soon joined and headed around the turn three off the inside, 3 lengths away 300m before closing off best to score under a good hold. 


Race 9 4.18pm Conductive Education Queensland F & M No Metro Wins Handicap 1200m.

No.13 Mialign – (C. Meagher) – 1st (5.0L) 26/3 Doomben 1000m Class 2 trial Good (TR 101)
Resuming (216 days). Jumped a little awkwardly before going through along the inside to race out 4 lengths clear! Keen to run stretched the margin to 6 lengths heading for home, jock didn’t do much on this one down to the line scoring a very impressive win. 


Race 10 4.55pm Desire To Inspire C, G & E No Metro Wins Handicap 1200m.

No.12 New Horizons – (C. Meagher) – 1st (0.3L) 26/3 Doomben 1000m Open trial Good (TR 109.5)
Resuming (105 days). Jumped ok, on the move wide out soon after settled 2nd off the fence just under 2 lengths away with a decent gap back to 3rd. Cornered similar, under a big grip 200m, coasted by the leader late to score with gas in the tank.

Race 10 No.10 Totally Charmed – (S. O’Dea) 
Tidy performance first up recently when unlucky not to win after being held up in the straight. Fitter now and the trials prior were good.
