Due to be completed in late 2020, Bernborough Ascot is a state of the art Aged Care and Retirement Village. Located in the heart of Ascot, next to Doomben Racecourse, the Village is expected to comprise of 300 premium independent living units plus a 144 bed Aged Care Facility.
Designed by award winning architects, Bernborough Ascot will consist of four buildings, with five to seven levels each. The Village features a variety of premium, technologically advanced spacious apartments with stylish interiors. There is a choice of 1, 2 and 3 bedrooms apartments, as well as views of either the green, the grandstand or the city. Bernborough Ascot’s prime location is walking distance from Racecourse Village, with cafes, restaurants, health & beauty services, and Queensland’s most premium Woolworths at the fingertips. Internally, Bernborough Ascot will have a wide range of facilities including a pool, gym, exercise studio, recreation green, cinema, consulting rooms and a gorgeous terrace.
In 2017 an Expression of Interest campaign was run for Bernborough Ascot (Precinct 9) and after an exhaustive process, Lendlease was selected as the Club’s preferred partner. As one of Australia’s largest and most respected listed property companies, Lendlease is the largest owner of retirement villages in Australia. Their experience in developing and operating retirement villages was a key element in their successful bid for Precinct 9.
Unlike the residential project with Mirvac, the Aged Care and Retirement model allowed the BRC to retain freehold title to the land. This delivery model will provide the BRC with a long term revenue stream ensuring the Club’s financial viability well into the future.
Bernborough Ascot is named after the great racehorse, Bernborough; a Queensland-born bay colt that achieved 15 consecutive victories between 1941 and 1946. For more information click here.
