The King of Doomben passes away at 28

The Brisbane Racing Club is saddened to hear of the loss of champion galloper Chief De Beers, who passed away peacefully at Living Legends in Victoria at the age of 28. The two-time winner of the Doomben 10,000 (1995 & 1998) won 20 of his 51 starts, earning almost $1.6 million. All of Chief De Beers wins came at Doomben.
